Customer Review: Excellent recipes and not THAT tough to make
I can be a bit clumsy in the kitchen (like burning things if I am using two pans at one time!) so I was slightly wary of ordering a cook book that sounded so elegant and sophisticated. However, I was pleased that the majority of recipes weren’t so tough at all; I regularly use Rose’s Vegetarian Meals in Minutes and there was nothing in Veggie Chic that was more difficult or challenging. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised that about half of the recipes were actually quite easy and simple to make, but the effect was fantastic and that’s what made them so chic rather than the technique. This book is perhaps a bit more time-consuming, but obviously that’s the sort of book you would expect to use when you have some time on your hands. It does also require you to have a stock of unusual and hard to come by ingredients, but after making a list and visiting a health food shop I found that it was really easy to prepare anything in this book (apart from the occasional Japanese ingredient that I can’t seem to get anywhere). I greatly enjoy using Rose Elliot’s veggie books and this has easily become my new favourite, even for occasional weekday cooking. Don’t be put off by the title - most of the recipes are easy enough for the clumsy cook to cope with.
Customer Review: Does what it says on the tin…!
Veggie Chic - this describes the recipes perfectly. If you fancy something a bit special, for Christmas or dinner parties etc. for your vegetarian guests then this is the book for you. Not for the novice cook and some of the ingredients are not ’standard’ purchases but usually obtainable from most high streets.

Customer Review: Another ’safe’ selection of recipes
I have a few recipe books by Rose Elliot (some from years ago, but more recently The Bean Book and Veggie Chic). I like her ideas, although at times they can become predictable. However, this is a good book and has some excellent quick meal ideas. Great for anyone in a hurry who needs to avoid yet another boring sarnie.
Customer Review: Another fantastic book from Rose Elliot
I have Rose Elliot’s 2 other books (Veggie meals in minutes and Veggie chic) and so was slightly hesitant about ordering yet another book by the same author, fearing a repetition of recipes. However, I was not disappointed - the recipes are new and original, taste great, are quick and easy to prepare, not to mention the fact that they’re bursting with vitamins and antioxidants. I love the fact that Rose Elliot tells you how many calories you’re getting out of your portions and the various vitamins that can be found in each meal. The recipes are easy to cook and use readily-available ingredients; but strangely, they are never boring as you’d expect from common ingredients. If you want good food but don’t have much time to spare, this will surely motivate you to get into the kitchen and throw away your ready meals.
