When Tanya Sienko shopped for a condo in the Chicago area in 2007, the idea of ‘living over a store’ enticed her. ‘I’ve lived in Europe and Japan, where this is typical,’ said Sienko. ‘I like the idea of being able to walk downstairs to restaurants or Continue …
The Linksys Wireless-G broadband router is really three devices in one box. First, it’s a wireless access point, which lets you connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network. There’s also a built-in four-port full-duplex 10/100 switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices. Connect four PCs directly, or daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.
To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G broadband router can encrypt all wireless transmissions, and it supports the industrial-strength wireless security of 802.1x authentication and authorization. The router can serve as a DHCP server, has NAT technology to protect against Internet intruders, supports VPN pass-through, and can be configured to filter internal users’ access to the Internet. Configuration is a snap with the Web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Linksys Wireless-G broadband router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multiplayer games with the flexibility, speed, and security you need!
Wireless-G is the 54 Mbps wireless networking standard that’s more than four times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country. But since they share the same 2.4 GHz radio band, Wireless-G devices can also interoperate with existing 11 Mbps Wireless-B equipment.
Because both standards are built-in, you can protect your investment in existing 802.11b infrastructure, and migrate to the new screaming-fast Wireless-G standard as your needs grow.
For more information on the differences between an access point and a router with access point, see the following table:

Wireless networks are rapidly becoming more popular and coming down in price. Since they don’t require cables, you can use the devices anywhere in an office or home, even out on the patio. There’s no need to roll out an Ethernet network cable to each room of a house; you can network anywhere–without wires. Outside the home, wireless networking is available in hotspots at coffee shops, businesses, and airports–great when you’re on the road and need to get some work done. For convenience, wireless networking is the answer.
Which Wireless Standard Is Right for Me? Now that you’ve decided to create a wireless network, the next step is to figure out which wireless standard to use.
Basically, a standard is a set of specifications for a device. All devices that follow a specific standard share operating characteristics, such as the radio frequency used and maximum data transfer speed.
For wireless networking, there are three standards to choose from at this time:

Customer Review: Solid Wireless g router, but its still wireless
I’ve owned this router for a couple years now, it is a solid wireless router with easy interface etc. But ALL wireless routers are very poor for network data transfer. Expecting 54mbps? Don’t count on it. Properly secured with WPA2 encryption my transfer rates are barely getting up to 5Mbps, yes 5. I get 5Mbps internet and this router (WPA2 remember) get’s a top consistent transfer to my laptop (wireless 802.11g card built in) around 4.5Mbps. Not even my internet speed. 54Mbps is optimal, without any security. In the real world, 802.11g isn’t for much more than internet sharing and music streaming. I drop off two stars for this as I would any 802.11g product that advertises “multimedia” streaming. Always will wired be the preferred solution. I pull full 1Gbps off my Linksys SD2008 switch, wireless n, when standardized won’t even touch a quarter of that in real world use. This review is for anyone who looked at the product and said “wow, 54mbps is good enough for the video I want to stream” etc.; well, it won’t be if you are a wall away and secured. (Of course, this is, unless you plan on streaming content so low in quality you watch it thinking you need glasses). But in the end, this is my personal experience, WPA2, no SSID broadcast, and 15ft + 1 wall/door (simple sheetrock-2×4-sheetrock) yields <5Mbps. I end up transferring gigabytes of datafiles and streaming DVD quality video, wired (my internet too if I want my full pipe).
Customer Review: Great item!
The Linksys Wireless Router is a very good product I haven’t had any major problems or been kicked off the internet like some reviews have stated. This product is simple to install. If you don’t know much about computers and technology then this is the router for you I did it myself!

Customer Review: impressive!
i borrowed this tape from someone and was impressed enough to order a copy for myself. this is a more beginner-friendly pilates-type workout. the sets are shorter than some of the other pilates tapes, the tape is filmed in a beautiful studio with live drummers. nice change from all the bad 80’s style music in so many tapes. a good workout any time, but i prefer to do this one at night. the more variety in your abdominal workout, the better results you will get. this is a nice addition to my daily workout.
Customer Review: A good workout
I am a new mom and have a hard time getting off to the gym so I have invested in workout tapes. I have tried about four others and than recently I got this as a christmas gift and popped it in. I immediately liked that it moved fast. The point is, is that you don’t do the same excercise 20 times and than move on - you do it a couple and than move on -BECAUSE IT WORKS SO WELL -IT WILL TONE YOU AND WORK OUT THAT AREA - instead of unneeded repetition. You get a workout everywhere. the next day I was the most sore I have ever been, and I thought the workout was easy. I have done the tape two more times - and I am excited beforehand! I DON’T HAVE TO NAG / MOTIVATE MYSELF TO DO IT.
I highly recommend this to anyone - I have NEVER done pilates or ballet and this was a little hard, but easier each time you do it!

Customer Review: Alot of fun
I bought it for a family gathering and every one enjoyed it, even those that don’t enjoy games as much. The ad I heard was true about “learning to play in a couple minutes”. Very easy and quick to learn how to play and start a game. Another plus is people can drop out and join in at any time. The only frustrating thing I found is that as the judgeing rotates you are at the mercy of questionable judgement. The more competitive you are, probably the more it would bother someone. There are times it is clear to most everyone that your card is the best match but the judge chooses another one. Overall a very worth while purchase.
Customer Review: Great Fun at Parties or With the Family!
This is a fun game to play for almost any age. It’s great at parties, with a group of friends, or just as an ice breaker. Probably the best thing about it is how much knowing a person can help. It is extra fun and fulfilling to get your card chosen because you know the dealer and can guess what would be most appropriate for them. Apples to Apples is very similar to another game called The Perfect Present. That game plays very similarly, but instead of choosing appropriate words, players choose “gifts” that the dealer might want instead. This also turns out to be extremely fun because you can offer cool gifts such as super powers or world peace, instead of just guessing what word the dealer finds most appropriate. I would highly recommend either one of these games for children or adults that are looking for a fun game to play with friends or people they just met.

Customer Review: While I don’t regret watching it, I can’t recommend it
I’d say the movie was about as good as the book - which is basically fluff. The characters lacked depth, and the story was weak at best. I don’t regret watching it, but I would also never want to see it again. If you have anything else to do, you’re better off doing it instead of spending the time with this movie.
Customer Review: The lying devil of old
The wretchedly written and grammatically incorrect sentences in the excerpts I glimpsed from Dan Brown’s “The DaVinci Code” were more than enough to discourage me from reading his controversial best-seller, but I was curious enough about the uproar to watch Ron Howard’s film version on DVD.
Is it really as blasphemous as critics charge?
Oh my, is it ever.
If fans of Brown’s fiction were to bother reading the Bible, they might see how this preposterous attempt to disprove the divinity of Jesus Christ is just one more example of end-times prophecy being fulfilled. The mockers and blasphemers are coming forward in great numbers, just as Jesus said they would, determined to recast the Son of God in deceptive New Age terms or to dismiss Him all-together. In doing so, they are paving the way for the Antichrist who will deceive the whole world into accepting him as the Messiah.
The big bad beast does not make an appearance in Howard’s film, but his coming is alluded to in the climax. The figure whom, it is suggested, is the only one worthy to possess the Holy Grail could be no one else. It certainly isn’t the real Christ because the pursuit of some so-called Holy Grail is pure idolatry as warned against by God. Placing mystical value on any object, be it the chalice that Jesus sipped from during the Last Supper, or the spear that pierced His side during the crucifixion, or the Shroud of Turin, is Satanic in origin, emphasizing that which has been created rather than the Creator himself.
As for DaVinci, it is well-known that he was a member of several secret societies, the likes of which still flourish today, to carry out the devil’s plan to blind our eyes to the truth. Any “codes” in his work are in service to that lying devil of old and reveal nothing but his own corruption.
On a purely cinematic level, “The DaVinci Code” is still a bust. This is third-rate Indiana Jones stuff, poorly made and indifferently acted. With the kinks in his hair ironed out, Tom Hanks looks like…well, I’ll leave it to you to choose the private anatomical part he most resembles. The two-time Oscar winner’s seemingly invulnerable career hit a bump in the road around the time of “The Terminal.” His presence in a film based on a cheap pop culture phenomenon may have temporarily stalled his decline, but in the long run it may only accelerate it. Ian McKellon is so obnoxious here that I wanted to slap him.
As for Ron Howard, he probably should have stayed in Mayberry. He wouldn’t have gone on to a directing career or an Oscar, but as the Bible asks, “What doth it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul?”
