Customer Review: User instructions could have been written in a clearer manner
I have been very busy these weeks with writing assignments. After making several futile attempts to understand the instructions, I put the gadget and the instructions on a shelf, where they will likely stay for an extended period. Eventually I hope to be able to dedicate more time to understanding how the machine works and how it may help me to improve my Chinese language skills.
Customer Review: Lightweight and large number of dictionary entries, but can be frustrating for intermediate Chinese learners
I bought this to replace the heavy pocket dictionary I usually carry around in my purse as I gallivant around China. As I am now at an intermediate learning level in Chinese, my checklist of important features might be different from that of other buyers. Lightweight: check. It’s still a noticable weight in my purse, but it’s a relief from the thick pocket dictionary. Sufficient dictionary size: check. I have already used this to look up hundreds of words and phrases, usually checking how it compares to my pocket dictionary. So far it has had almost every word I’ve looked for. As for phrases, it has some that my pocket dictionary doesn’t have, but lacks others that the book does include. Overall, I’m satisfied with the number of entries. Able to look up Chinese characters: check. If I see a character on the street that I really want to learn, I can use radicals to look it up. It’s not easy, but it works the same way as standard dictionaries. BUT, the frustrating thing is this: when I look up a character, it doesn’t tell me the pinyin. I can press the audio button to listen to its pronunciation, but the voice is somewhat muffled and difficult to understand. I often have to guess what the real pronunciation is and double check by looking up the character using pinyin. Also, there is another problem I didn’t even consider. If I hear someone say “Jia(1) you(2)!” and try to look it up, I can’t just enter the pinyin and hope to find a matching word or phrase. First I must enter “jia” and find the correct character. After I have the first character, I can then type in “you” and easily find the phrase. But if I only heard someone say the phrase on the street, I probably don’t know what characters it’s made up of. This makes it impossible to look up the phrase. User friendly: fairly good. My biggest complaint is the inability to turn off all sounds. When searching for a character using pinyin, dictionary pronounces each part of the word I enter (quite loudly). Besides slowing things down and being almost pointless, it’s impossible to turn off. I went to settings and turned off both “Music” and “KeySnd” sounds AND turned volume to zero, but the annoying voice was still audible. If I want to use this in class, I’ll have to also plug in the earphones. After using this dictionary for a few weeks, I think it’s obvious that it was designed with Chinese speakers learning English in mind. As an example, you can’t find “New York” or even “China” in the English–>Chinese dictionary, but look up the Chinese words and you’ll find the English translation. However, it’s still usable for English speakers and is the cheapest electronic dictionary I’ve found. It also came with ear buds and a soft black protective case. That was a nice surprise. I would recommend this product, but be aware of the drawbacks.

Kiss Me, Kate (1948 Original Broadway Cast)
Opening at the tail end of 1948, Kiss Me, Kate became an instant classic–and amazingly didn’t receive a full-scale revival until 1999. All the more reason to revel in its original version. With its cunning play-within-a-play premise (a musical update of The Taming of the Shrew reverberates in backstage feuds), brilliant mix of high and low comedy, and of course some of Cole Porter’s better-known songs–”So in Love,” “I Hate Men,” Too Darn Hot,” “Always True to You (In My Fashion)”–Kiss Me, Kate remains a funny, zesty hall of mirrors. Hard as you may try to find a fly in the ointment, there’s no fault with the cast either–Patricia Morison, for instance, is a perfectly petulant Lilli Vanessi. –Elisabeth Vincentelli
Customer Review: Masterfully written
“Kiss Me, Kate” is a masterfully written show. The interplay between the stage and backstage is superb. The variety of music, from the near-classical “Were Thine That Special Face,” to the comic “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” with the more traditional Broadway sound of “Wunderbar,” holds the listener’s interest throughout. But, about this recording– Who else but Alfred Drake could carry the role of Fred Graham? Patricia Morrison, properly shrewish as Lilli. The flirty voice of Lisa Kirk. Even Harold Lang, who is not the greatest singer ever to hit Broadway. Wonderfully written, wonderfully performed, wonderfully recorded and remastered!
Customer Review: Wish I had seen the actual Show!!!!
I wish I was about 20 when Kiss Me Kate opened so I could have witnessed this body shaking, gut bursting work of Cole Porter. This is the first time I’ve heard it. I can still feel the voices and music pumping through my blood stream with pleasure. You have to get it to get it so get it. You’ll be more than greatful you did. Pardon me, I’m going to listen to it again!

Customer Review: Awesome buy! Better than the original.
I purchased Sirius Satelite Radio for my husband for Christmas. For some off reason, the original antenna just stopped working one day. I looked online and found this antenna so I ordered it for him. This antenna works better than the original antenna! I’m not kidding! He never loses a station, it’s always clear and I’m jealous!
This is definitely a great buy, I got the antenna just when the store said that I would get it and it’s just awesome!
Customer Review: Very Good Antenna
I purchased this antenna when I bought a new car and didn’t take the original. Almost the same as the one that came with my Sirius Receiver a couple of years ago. Compact and low profile. Works good and just as easy to install.

Customer Review: piece of crap
I guess we are spoiled in this office with IBM typewriters. Unfortunately, our main one quit working (after about 10 years of use)and needed to be replaced. We did not want anything fancy, just functional. Every person in this office hates this Brother machine. We are returning it and will not purchase another Brother. There are several things about this that make it more of a hassle then its worth. 1. Can’t see where you are typing. We use this for forms, so it is important to be able to line it up nicely - we waste so much time erasing and trying to line it up in the right place. 2. The keys couldn’t be any harder to type. It can’t keep up with your typing and you need to hit the keys hard. Lame and exhausting! 3. Have to reset the tabs, margins and pitch every single time you turn the machine on? No one can find instructions in the manual on how to make these adjustments stay. So once you spend five minutes adjusting your tabs and reseting the pitch, you struggle to line it up, erasing and readjusting a million times. It feels like crap while you do it. And Wha-la, it took you 20 minutes to type a form that took 3 minutes on the old IBM Wheel writer. Spend the extra cash and buy from a company that makes smooth comfortable and efficient machines.
Customer Review: Brother ml-300 not worth considering
I have had two of these units. I would definitely not recommend anyone buying the ML-300. Save yourself some money and get something else. Both of the units lasted only 14 months. I did hardly any typing with them. Only multi-page forms and applications. The printwheel motor failed on both of them and so did the electronic board for the keys. Took in in to a repair center and was told it was not worth repairing. Contacted Brother International USA and was told that the warranty was only good for 12 months. Save yourself some money and buy a Big Chief table and a number 2 pencil.

Customer Review: Canon Beats HP
After almost a month, I am convinced that Canon makes a better printer than HP. I have owned the P1100 HP photoprinter for some years and it was only ok… The Canon Pixma MP610 has been wonderful so far, with no problems at all. It is fast, easy to install (tech support even helped me make it work with a networked Win98 computer) and has so many features for it’s relatively low price.
Customer Review: Just too big|
I can’t speak for the quality of the printer or the output because I returned it before use - thus the average rating. The dimensions in the specifications are the closed size. When you extend the paper tray and lift the cover, its more like 22″ deep and 15″ tall. If you want both paper trays open at the same time it’s even worse. It was just too large for the only space I have for a printer in my office setup. I wasn’t ready to buy new furniture just to keep this printer. It’s a very handsome machine and has gotton many good reviews. Just make sure you have lots of room.
