CSN Baby
It would not be an exaggeration to say that James Lidell’s the finest blue eyed soul singer in years, and thankfully he puts his pipes in service of the right stuff. Dude can seriously sing-one minute he reminds you of Otis, the next Sly, a brief detour through Marvin, a serious Prince workout, and then the dude goes and nails a great take on Stevie ’s style too. The production is really inventive and subtle. Songs like “Multiply” and “Game for Fools” start out sounding spot-on retro at first, but then little touches sneak into the mix later on that are decidedly modern - the crazy keyboard solo on the former and the drum programming and subtle vocal effects on the latter. What keeps Lidell from massive cheesiness a la Jamiroquai is evident on “The City,” the only real link here to Lidell’s previous crazy-beats-heavy and effects-laden solo album and his work with Supercollider. Its inclusion here helps ground the album in the present, and along with the brief live clip included in the enhanced portion of the disc, it is clear Lidell is a major talent. -Mike McGonigal

Customer Review: it was aw’ite
i brought this cd because of the Target commercial, but the rest of the tracks are sub standard..
Customer Review: Multiply by Jamie Lidell - “A Little Bit More”
The CD is pretty good. I purchased the CD for one song, “A Little Bit More” which is the song that was being played in Target Commercials on TV. I looked to see if I could buy/download the individual song and I could not find it anywhere. I like about half of the CD. I really like “A Little Bit More”. The rest I don’t care for.

Fun for both kids and adults, Blokus is a strategy board game that challenges spatial thinking. Bright colors and simple rules make it ideal for ages five and up, but adults will certainly be engrossed by this unique and challenging game.
Not Your Average Board Game
Blokus encourages creative thinking and has received a Mensa award for promoting healthy brain activity. The goal of this game is for players to fit all of their pieces onto the board. When placing a piece it may not lie adjacent to the player’s other pieces, but must be placed touching at least one corner of their pieces already on the board. The player who gets rid of all of their tiles first is the winner and strategic thinking helps as you block moves from your opponent. Blokus sometimes comes to an end because there are no more possible moves.
Four players make this abstract game especially fast and exciting; however, it can be just as fun for two or three players. Blokus has come up with a number of different ways to play the game to make it more thrilling when playing with less than four players. Draft Blokus allows a player to use more than one color and Reverse Blokus reverses the entire game so that the person who places the least amount of tiles on the board is the winner. It can even be played in a solitaire version when one player attempts to place all of their pieces in a single sitting. A game of Blokus typically lasts a 30 minutes. As a practical feature, raised edges on the board help keep the tiles in place and allow convenient clean-up. This game includes 84 pieces in four vibrant colors, an instruction guide, and one gameboard with 400 squares.
Blokus is simple to understand, but the game’s complexity is revealed shortly after everyone begins to play. It can be addictive, even for those not normally into abstract games. Blokus is a catalyst for spatial thinking, as players form images in their mind before placing the pieces on the board. Children and adults can play together for hours of competitive family fun. As Europe’s 2003 Game of the Year, Blokus is adored by many and even played in professional tournaments.

Customer Review: Blockus Rocks.
Blockus is one of those games that gets under your skin in a good way. You want to play it. It’s addictive. You can master it fairly easily if you understand a few simple principles about how to control spaces and how to place pieces on the board. For example, things that can help considerably are identifying the pieces you have and reminding yourself to put the pieces that will probably cause you trouble the most in the late game, put them down on the board asap. A real complex shape is not likely to get placed late in the game, and there’s a limited amount of room depending on how everyone’s laying down pieces. It really is a fantastic game and it’s given my family no end of fun and many hours of play and conversation. It’s one that even someone not trying that hard can win. Sometimes we play purely on instinct rather than strategy and it’s just as interesting and rewarding. If you just can’t get Chess, you’ll probably be able to get this. If you want to try it out first, try the Blokus online game, which is available at the Blockus Web site. Try searching for Blockus Online and see what you get. You can play several different kinds of Blockus, as well as the travel version online, and that’s addicting as well.
Customer Review: BLOKUS is the best game EVER!
I collect board games and added this to my collection based on all the great reviews. I was NOT disappointed. The game is so easy to learn and every game is different, even if you play mulitiple times with the same people. I was very skeptical based on the directions and game description I read online but sometimes it’s the simple games that you want to play again and again. The game dynamics can change with just one piece on the board and it’s very fun formulating strategies. Everyone we’ve introduced this game to loves it as much as we do and it always manages to make it’s way out on game night. The only drawback is you can’t really play with more than 4 people and we don’t like the game as much playing with 2 or 3 people. It’s really meant to play with 4 players. That’s the only drawback. Otherwise, I really want to play as I’m typing this.

Customer Review: Best TV Learning Toy
My son just got this from his grandparents, and I have to say I am really impressed. We’ve owned several of the TV learning toys (Little Leaps, FP Learn with Me DVD come to mind) and were not really impressed with those. This toy will teach him how to interact with a real computer, and lets him have fun doing it. My son is almost 3, and has been given a probable diagnosis of Aspergers syndrome. Small motor coordination is difficult for him at times - I LOVE that this toy lets him work on his mouse skills. He absolutely LOVES this computer, and I do too. The games seem to be varied enough not to get too monotonous, the way some preschool computer software can. We decided to hook this toy up to a small TV that isnt connected to cable, so that as far as he is concerned, its just a computer monitor. So far, so good!
Customer Review: Good preparation for using real computers
I bought this for my 2.5 year old who has been showing an interest in using the computer. The nice thing about clickstart is that it comes with a keyboard and mouse and it has a desktop with icons, so it will prepare your child to move onto a real computer. The games that come with the system are so engaging to my daughter that she gained a lot of control over both the mouse and keyboard in less than a week. I thought it would take a lot longer for her to learn mouse and keyboard control, so I was very impressed. If your child has not learned their letters, numbers and colors yet then the level 1 games that come with the system will be a good introduction. If your child already knows these things, the level 1 games will teach them how to use the mouse and keyboard well. Level 2 has a spelling game, which is very good for children who know their letters. They will also develop better mouse skills and keyboard knowledge with faster, timed games. The games are long enough to build skills and short enough to hold a small child’s attention. Unfortunately, you can only choose level 1 or 2 when you first log in, so if your child is at level 1 in some games but level 2 in others they will have to restart the system to change levels. Fortunately, the purchased games do allow you to choose level 1 or 2 without restarting. If your child knows letters, numbers and colors the games on the system will not be too helpful from an educational point of view (other than the spelling game and the inbox which teaches some facts about animals). You may have to buy some games with the system or soon after buying it to keep their attention. However, if your child is still learning these things the games on the system should keep them busy for a while. I have two complaints. First, there is the lack of games but clickstart is fairly new to the market, so hopefully more will be added soon. Second, the games only come with two levels, so its possible that many children might outgrow the games quickly. A third level would have extended their usefulness longer. At $19.99 the longer the games can be used the better.
