J.C. Penney to reduce pace of store openings (AP)
J.C. Penney Co. will further slow the pace of new department store openings and cut capital spending next year because of the weak economy.

AutoZone OKs share buyback increase up to $500M (AP)
AutoZone Inc. said Thursday its board has approved the repurchase of an additional $500 million in stock, bringing its current unused share repurchase authorization to $608 million.
